How I Started Focusing on Metabolic Health and Whole-Body Wellness
Metabolic Whole Body Wellness
If you had told me a few years ago that I would be sharing my personal wellness journey with others, I might not have imagined just how much my own experience would change the way I approach health.
As a mom of three, home infusion pharmacist, and the creator behind The Meal Prep Mamacita, I have always believed in the importance of taking care of yourself. I love creating easy, flavorful, nourishing meals that help busy families make healthier choices without spending hours in the kitchen.
But knowing what to do and feeling your best are two different things.
My personal journey taught me that wellness is about more than the number on the scale. It is also about metabolic health, energy, blood sugar balance, consistency, and learning to support your body from the inside out.
When My Health Started Feeling Different
After having my third child, I began experiencing health struggles that I couldn’t seem to overcome through diet and exercise alone.
I had experienced gestational diabetes during pregnancy, and afterward, I continued to struggle with blood sugar and what I understood to be insulin resistance. I felt inflamed, exhausted, and frustrated as the weight began to creep up.
As someone with a pharmacy background, I understood many of the health concepts involved. But experiencing these challenges personally was a different story.
I was trying to juggle motherhood, work, and everyday life while feeling like my body wasn’t responding the way I expected it to.
I knew I wanted to make a change, but I also wanted to understand the bigger picture.
I didn’t just want to lose weight. I wanted to feel better, have more energy, and prioritize my long-term health.
Why I Started Looking Beyond the Scale
It All Begins Here
For a long time, it can be easy to think that weight loss comes down to eating less and exercising more. While nutrition, movement, and healthy habits are important, metabolic health is also an important part of the conversation.
Blood sugar regulation, insulin sensitivity, sleep, stress, nutrition, and physical activity can all influence our overall health.
I began shifting my focus away from simply chasing a number on the scale and toward building habits that supported my whole body.
That meant continuing to prioritize nourishing meals, finding ways to stay consistent even with a busy schedule, and learning more about metabolic wellness.
I also began incorporating the Unicity Feel Great System into my routine.
How Unicity Became Part of My Wellness Routine
It All Begins Here
I discovered Unicity while looking for additional ways to support my wellness goals. What started as an effort to improve how I felt became part of a broader journey toward consistency and taking better care of myself.
The Feel Great System became one part of my routine alongside the lifestyle habits I was working to maintain.
I incorporated the products consistently while continuing to focus on balanced meals, protein, fiber, movement, and other everyday wellness habits.
As a pharmacist, I believe it is important to look at health holistically. No single product replaces nutritious food, physical activity, quality sleep, or appropriate medical care. I also believe that supplements and wellness products should be evaluated thoughtfully, especially when medications or existing health conditions are involved.
My experience is personal, and everyone’s body and health circumstances are different.
